History in the making

I want to start off by saying  I do not intend for this to be a blog for my political beliefs.
However, with that said, I don't feel as if I can let a day like today go by without blogging about it.
I appreciate what is happening today in history.  I appreciate the 100 year old man who traveled to DC to see in person this inauguration.  He has lived in a time where African Americans didn't enjoy the same rights as others.  He's seen first hand how he or his parents were wrongly treated by people who thought they were better than him.  I appreciate that.  I'm glad he gets to see an African American president in the white house during his lifetime.
Today, I am so proud to be an American, as I am every other day of the year.  I am proud that I live in a country that can hand over power from one president to another.  Especially, when they are of different political parties.  I am proud that most saw past color to elect a leader of this free world.
But, more than anything I am sad.  I am sad b/c Obama won the election in November, but Americans have lost.  I'm sad b/c African Americans deserve better than him.  I'm sad that he's going to let all these people down.  I'm sad that the media is acting like this is the 2nd coming of Christ.
What can one do?  What do I plan on doing?  I plan on spending the next 4 year praying for our new president & his administration.  I'll pray that his heart & mind are changed.  I pray for his safety & the safety of his family.  I'll pray for the safety of our country.  I pray that for Obama's family, that they grow stronger during his time as president.
Today is a big day for our country.  I am very thankful for the hope that has been given to people who never thought they'd see even in thier lifetime.
So, I ask that you join me in praying for our president.  Lift him up in prayer & ask that whatever happens, is for the glory of our Father in heaven.

You and I are two peas in a pod... I couldn't agree with you more. I will also be praying that he has The Holy Spirit with him at all times and that he will change his ways on certain issues.
